Main duties of the job

As an apprentice, you can expect from us:

Full training by

  • Working alongside experienced staff to support you and help gain the practical skills you need
  • Learning job-specific skills
  • Achieving the “All Wales NHS HCA Induction Programme within 3 months of commencement
  • Achieving a Level 2/3 (depending upon previous qualifications) vocational qualification as a Health Care Assistant within 18 months of commencement followed by 6 months consolidation period
  • Support for essential skills training in English & Mathematics if required
  • 28 days paid holiday a year plus additional bank holidays (holiday entitlement increased with years of service)
  • All of your training will be paid for in full
  • A great experience of working as part of a team, making a real difference
  • Subject to the satisfactory completion of your apprenticeship, you may be eligible for consideration for a permanent Health Care Assistant post at the Health Board.
  • We will pay you during your apprenticeship which will last 24 months:

The apprenticeships are expected to commence in September 2022.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
