Job Description

The Role

National Instruments is currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Technician to contribute to the Demo Team in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research new products and third-party equipment.
  • Evaluate components to optimize new and released products.
  • Construct and fabricate prototype equipment for new product development, proofs-of-concept, or demos.
  • Schematic entry of components and products.
  • Evaluate and assist in the design and assembly of electro-mechanics.
  • Evaluate and design cable assemblies for new and existing products.
  • Participate in product certification, compliance, testing and evaluation.
  • Help execute validation plans.
  • Troubleshooting circuit boards.
  • Train and assist when required.
  • Lab management and organization.
  • Implement procedures and document processes as needed.

  • Outstanding customer service skills; takes initiative, anticipates needs and acts with the organization in mind.
  • Responsive and available to stakeholders such as Support, Field Sales, and Business Units.
  • Motivated, independent self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding and use of test equipment.

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent work experience and other education.
  • Soldering certifications or equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Must be physically capable of sitting and working (typing) on a PC for extended periods and be able to accomplish physical tasks required for position, including the ability to lift to 50 lbs.
