Title: Warehouse Assistant

Business Need/Purpose of Role:

Responsible for picking/binning/loading of parts for customer orders / spare parts

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Grade 12 / (Matric) / N3 Certificate

Valid Forklift License

Computer Literate (MS Office) – would be advantageous

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years related experience in a warehouse environment
  • Must have worked with a computerised stock control system and have working knowledge with barcode scanners
  • Good understanding of inbound and outbound documents
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of warehouse functions
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of warehouse processes / procedures

Key Tasks:

  • Competent in operating with a scanner and material handling machines.
  • Ensure all parts to be dispatched are clearly identified by barcode label and that all parts are of good quality. Report any deviations to the supervisor immediately.
  • Accurate and timeous checking of all picked parts, checking physical parts against paperwork and report any anomalies to the supervisor immediately.
  • Loading of trucks at the dispatch bay according to load schedule.
  • Ensure all delivery notes are handed over to dispatch clerks after checking.
  • Assist in resolving all dispatch queries within 24 hours.
  • Participate in Lean activities in area of responsibility.
  • Assist with annual stock takes.
  • Maintain stock accuracy of not less than 98%.
  • Any other warehouse duties as may be required by the business.
  • Attend daily green area meetings with other warehouse staff.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene and security throughout the department and continuously improve on set standards.

  • Ability to work shifts (3 shift system) if needed
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English Language
