How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Administrative Assistant will report to the Vice President, Cargo and be responsible for performing advanced, diversified, and confidential administrative duties. The candidate will work closely with Delta leaders and others as deemed necessary. This position requires broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of Delta’s programs, policies and procedures. This position is based in Atlanta, GA.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Must be well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people and programs.
  • Must be highly advanced in multitasking and ability to manage multiple high-level projects.
  • Ability to manage and maintain multiple schedules, meetings, handling a high-volume of travel arrangements, travel itineraries and participate in related arrangements.
  • Serve as general coordinator for the Cargo leadership team, supporting general office operation for a team of 100~ HQ staff.
  • support event management and coordination with the Business Unit MarComm team, for team events and activities
  • Ability to interact with the office staff (at all levels) with a focus on team cohesion by assuming office coordinating responsibilities.
  • Must feel comfortable and be flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsible for filing, documenting, database work, and preparing invoices, reports, decks, memos, letters, vouchers, expense reporting, and other documents, utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Access, Visio and Outlook.
  • Manage approvals, authorities and necessary transactions utilizing Delta internal systems
  • Must act with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
  • High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalency and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Windows-based applications like Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to coordinate activities across multiple departments, working closely with staff in other areas of the organization
  • Attention to detail necessary to ensure communication on behalf of the Leadership team is accurate and correct,
  • Ability to coordinate the schedules of multiple aspects of projects completed by separate staff members or vendors is required.
  • Organizational/leadership skills necessary to develop office procedures, prioritize and schedule work activities of self and others and balance multiple assignments with limited direction.
  • Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff from front line employees to executive staff.
  • Must feel comfortable and be flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles.
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • Knowledge of corporate business processes and procedures such as expense reporting, purchasing and departmental budget preferred.
  • Experience working with a diverse, multi-functional team across multiple geographies
  • Knowledge of corporate business processes and procedures such as payroll, benefits, reimbursements and expense reporting, purchasing approvals and departmental budget is preferred.
