Overview: The Production Planning Assistant will work closely with the Production Planning Manager to ensure that all production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This includes coordinating the scheduling of production runs, managing inventory levels, and identifying potential bottlenecks in the production process. The Production Planning Assistant will also be responsible for tracking and reporting on production metrics, such as on-time delivery and yield, and for assisting with the development of production plans and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling of production runs, including the allocation of resources and the management of inventory levels
  • Identify potential bottlenecks in the production process and work with the Production Planning Manager to develop solutions
  • Track and report on production metrics, such as on-time delivery and yield
  • Assist with the development of production plans and schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Planning Manager

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as supply chain management, operations management, or industrial engineering
  • 1-2 years of experience in production planning or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production planning software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Additional responsibilities for the Production Planning Assistant may include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, sales, and logistics to ensure that production plans align with company goals and customer needs
  • Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date production records and documentation
  • Analyzing production data and identifying trends or patterns that may impact production efficiency
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Providing support to the Production Planning Manager in the creation and maintenance of production budgets and forecasts

The Production Planning Assistant will also be expected to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and developments in production planning, and to continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process. This may involve staying informed about new technologies or methods that could be incorporated into the production process, as well as participating in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
