Electronic Data Capture Operator

Electronically enters information from returns and/or related documents and verifies, edits and corrects entered data. Work requires the use of a computer keyboard and/or bar code scanner to enter data continuously for a period of 7 hours per day.General Duties ClerkReceives, examines and sorts incoming mail and attaches relevant documentation, performs various handling activities, prepares large volumes of material such as files and documents for processing and forwards the information to the appropriate area within the Agency or other federal organizations.

Here is a partial outline of the main duties, without limitation:

Document processing; maintenance and updating of records and files related to taxpayer returns, schedules and forms. Analyzes and evaluates information; receives, sorts, prepares, distributes and files documents; enters and retrieves data; updates accounts and reports; audits documents from the computer system. Provide on-the-job training to teammates as required. Performs activities such as responding to requests made by correspondence or correspondence or telephone inquiries. Process incoming and outgoing mail and maintain statistics on mail volumes. Collects and arranges for the destruction of classified customer waste.

  • Receive, sort, log into the system, deliver mail and other materials. Stretch, climb, bend, lift and carry heavy boxes, mail bags, pallets and furniture weighing more than 10 kilos and push heavy carts or equipment daily, up to 5 hours per day.

Work involves the use of hand and power tools, forklift disassembly, moving furniture, equipment and/or mail. Work requires wearing protective footwear.Salary range at level SP-01: from 41 658 $ to 45 987 $ (under review)Salary range at level SP-02: from 47 765 $ to 52 724 $ (under review)

The pool established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar positions.The purpose of this staffing process is to fill temporary positions of less than 6 months during the tax season for the day shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and/or the evening shift (4:00 p.m. to midnight) at the Jonquière Tax Centre. Therefore, any candidate appointed as a result of this process will be required to move to this location.
